Zsolnay porcelain company established in 1800 is a world-wide known manufacturer of porcelain, they have shops in any major tourist location.
FYI – Zsolnay had also developed a Pyrogranite: a type of ornamental ceramics used as roof tiles on most famous building in Austro-Hungarian empire, i.e. Matthias Church, the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Museum of Applied Art and many more.
So the story is that one of the Zsolnay branches ordered a new logo design, offering 100 euro for work.
So naturally Hungarian designers created a buzz in the Facebook community making laugh of this all.
The owners of Zsolnay branch replied with anger and rage, threatening creators of the Facebook group with low suits for humiliating the brand name. Strange indeed…
Our favorite comments on this matter from one of the local designers was: “if you are ordering a logo design for 100 euro, then how much do you actually plan to spend on court cases?!”
Oh, well, this type of Hungarian mentality is something we are avoiding since 1998 when Artamax has started :)
